Orland Dean Gull




Orland Dean Gull St. George, UT - After waiting nine years, Orland Dean Gull was reunited with his sweetheart Helen, on November 28, 2008. Born August 30, 1924 in Hinckley, Millard, Utah to Irah William Gull and Reva Memmott. He married Helen Judd on December 24, 1943 in Spokane, Washington, and were sealed in the St. George LDS Temple on February 6, 1960. He served in the US Navy in WWII with an Honorable discharge. He retired after 36 years of service from Mountain Bell and was a member of the Kiwana’s Club. Favorite pastimes were spent with family, hunting, fishing, camping, gardening and other outdoor activities. He was an active member in The Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints and held many positions.

He is survived by his 11 children: Helene (Edward) Nelson, St. George, UT.,Catherine (Randy) Holman of Sandy, UT., Richard Dean (Barbara) Gull, St. George, UT., Pauline (David) Isom, West Jordan, UT., Kenneth Irah (Becky) Gull, St George, UT., Kristine (Jeffrey) Groat, Moutain Home, ID., Steven Arma (Debra) Gull, Washington, UT., Michael Clarence, West Jordan, UT., Maidalyn Gull Starr, St. George, UT., Rochelle Gull (Robert) Adamson, Gainsville, GA., DeWayne D.J. (Alicia) Gull, Hurricane, UT; 52 grandchildren, and 79 great grandchildren. He is also survived by his half sister, Maxine Bennett Branagan, West Jordan, UT., and half brother, Ralph Bennett, West Jordan, UT. He was preceded in death by his parents; his wife Helen Judd; great granddaughter Shaylee Nelson; and his brother Arden Gull.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday, December 3, 2008, at 11 a.m., at the St. George LDS 3rd Ward Chapel, 200 W. 500 N., St. George, UT. A visitation will be held Tuesday, from 6-8 p.m., at Metcalf Mortuary, 288 W. St. George Blvd., St. George, UT., and Wednesday, from 9:30-10:30 a.m., at the chapel, prior to services. Interment will be in the St. George City Cemetery, under the direction of Metcalf Mortuary 435-673-4221. We would like to thank all those care givers, Children, Grand Children, and Great Grand Children and those care giver at Red Cliffs Care Center, Medical Care givers, Dr. Thomas Jones, and other Physicians who cared for him with such love.

Cassie, I am really sorry to hear about your grandpa, I know he was one of your hero's whom you admired and dearly loved! I hope you and your family will be able to find peace in knowing he is happy and with his sweetie! Let me know if I can do anything.
